Penn Medicine HUP East Pavilion
Penn Medicine’s vision for the East Pavilion extended beyond constructing a new hospital—it was an opportunity to redefine how care is organized, delivered, and connected across one of the nation’s leading academic medical centres.
HBS supported the 1.5 million-square-foot facility through an integrated delivery approach spanning equipment planning, procurement, installation, logistics coordination, operational readiness, and move planning. Throughout the project, our team helped align clinical requirements, facility operations, technology integration, and stakeholder priorities across a highly complex healthcare environment.
Particularly challenging was the installation of advanced imaging technologies within the Neurological Center of Excellence. By identifying logistical constraints early and collaborating closely with contractors, clinical engineering teams, and equipment vendors, HBS developed innovative installation strategies that enabled critical equipment to be delivered and commissioned without impacting project milestones.
The result is one of the largest and most technologically advanced hospital facilities in the United States—a fully integrated healthcare environment designed to support exceptional patient care, operational efficiency, and long-term clinical innovation.
